The Allen & Heath QU series (QU-5, QU-5D, QU-6, QU-6D, QU-7, QU-7D) are digital mixing consoles designed for live sound, broadcast, and studio applications. All models feature a 7” capacitive touchscreen and 25 motorised 100mm faders with four channel strip layers, giving clear visual control and easy navigation. They run on the 96kHz XCVI Core and offer DEEP processing for high-quality sound shaping, along with 6 multi-FX engines with dedicated stereo returns.
The mix architecture allows 38 inputs to mix (32 mono/linkable, 3 stereo), 12 mixes (6 mono/linkable aux/group, 6 stereo aux/group), 4 mono/linkable matrices, and a stereo main LR output, providing flexible routing for complex setups. Input/output options include XLR/jack combi mic/line sockets, 2 stereo TRS line inputs, XLR outputs, a talkback XLR, 2 TRS outputs, and AES3 stereo digital output. All models also include the 128×128 Intelligent SLink port, which allows connection to the Everything I/O family of rack and stage box expanders, making the system highly flexible and mix-and-match compatible with other Allen & Heath digital systems. It can even be connected directly to other Allen & Heath consoles, with up to 128×128 channels of 96kHz audio available for patching. The Dante-enabled models (QU-5D, QU-6D, QU-7D) add a 16×16 48/96kHz Dante interface with dedicated locking EtherCon port. Stereo headphone output is included on all models.
Control and connectivity extend further with remote apps for Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Android, 8 SoftKeys, configurable footswitch connections, and recording/playback options via USB-A for stereo, USB-C for multichannel (32×32), and SD card slots (16×16@96kHz or 32×32@48kHz). Miscellaneous features include a 12V lamp socket and configurable chromatic channel meter LEDs.
In short, the QU series provides a scalable, high-performance digital mixing platform: QU-5, QU-6, and QU-7 are non-Dante, while the D versions (QU-5D, QU-6D, QU-7D) include Dante for networked audio. All models combine touch control, motorised faders, flexible I/O, advanced processing, and multichannel recording/playback, making them suitable for both live and studio use, with full compatibility across Allen & Heath digital ecosystems.
