Find a selection of UHF radio microphones at affordable prices.
Used by professional entertainers and broadcasters, UHF radio mics are practical, portable and easy to use because you don't need a physical cable to connect them to amplifying equipment. All wireless microphone systems can be affected by factors such as building structure and distance but UHF Radio Microphones are the best option to overcome such hurdles. Another common problem can be breakthrough from other radio users; again generally the UHF radio microphone systems offer the best solution to such problems. Future requirements should be considered when purchasing your microphones and if it is likely that you will use more than two or three microphones simultaneously you may wish to consider a multi channel unit. Most UHF Radio Microphones will allow three users simultaneously unlicensed. Up to 24 may be used but licensing would be required; please see the notes at the bottom of this page on Radio Microphone Licensing.
At Terralec we have a host of UHF radio microphones, vocal microphones and accessories that are perfect for singers, presenters, schools, councils, clubs, restaurants and DJs; in fact anyone looking for a hassle free way of projecting their voice to a small audience or a large gathering should take a look at our products.
These wireless microphones, or mics, transmit radio waves using ultra high frequencies and can either be hand-held, fixed to your clothes using a bodypack or bought in a headset format. Hand held options are ideal for television presenters, singers and stage performers like comedians. People who need to keep their hands free tend to go for alternatives like the UHF bodypack wireless microphone that comes with a belt pack transmitter and an optional headset mic because they can move around without affecting sound quality. The condenser stage headset mic is designed to be almost invisible to the eye from a distance, making it great for opera performers and stage actors. Lightweight and comfortable, it can be adjusted to the correct size and its flesh colour means it camouflages well around the ear and face. Many of our hand microphones come with rechargeable batteries and also feature diversity reception to improve stability and avoid signal drop outs - these are superb for roving broadcasters and news reporters.

UHF Radio Microphone Licensing:
All the UHF radio microphones within this section can be used without a license. They will operate in the licence free bands UHF 863.1 - 864.9 MHz. If you wish to use large numbers of microphones on a wireless microphone system then you will need to use channels outside of the unlicensed band and in such instance you will need to apply for licence.
The licensing process is simple and is controlled in the UK by JFMG Ltd. They will ensure that the correct frequencies are chosen, so as not to clash will other local users (adjacent schools and theatres etc). Other frequencies and options are available for fixed or special installations. Before purchasing any of our UHF Radio mics for a fixed site, we recommend you contact JFMG Ltd or visit their website. They can provide you with detailed information and license application forms.

Channel 38 Information:
In December 2009, Ofcom announced some changes to its licensing arrangements for wireless microphone systems. Wireless microphone users currently have exclusive use of one dedicated channel - channel 69, which will be cleared in 2012 to allow for new uses. To safeguard the future interests of wireless microphone users, Ofcom announced that there would be a replacement channel - channel 38, which will offer the same utility as channel 69. Channel 38 is already widely available in the UK although some areas will not be fully accessible until 2012. For more information regarding channel 38, please visit the "New License Information" on Ofcoms website. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to discuss how the changes will affect you.
